The Private Catholic Association of Faithful, Bonds of Marian Love (BML), was born on July 16th, 1999, feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Medellin, Colombia. On that day, Mr. José Rodrigo Jaramillo Fernandez was questioned by a small group of young men about the Catholic doctrine, in specific about our Blessed Mother as they had been confused by our Protestant brothers. That is when Rodrigo answered their questions and invited them to pray the Holy Rosary. That day began our first Prayer Group which is now held every Friday in all of BML’s localities.
After some time, the small youth group, oriented by its director, Rodrigo Jaramillo, and inspired by the Holy Spirit, started to offer spiritual retreats. Since the retreats bore excellent fruits and resulted in great conversions, many people became interested in living them and bringing this experience to other cities in Colombia and even to other countries. This is how the Movement spread to Ecuador, Venezuela, Panamá, Uruguay, Mexico, Peru, Brazil and the United States.
Today the Movement is in over 20 countries around the world including New Zealand, and Canada. The movement has received invitations from several other nations, where it would also like to arrive in order to help implant the Kingdom of Christ in every heart, through the Lord’s Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary.
